Showers

Showers

Electric showers can take a lot of power and will always need their own electricity supply straight from the mains fuse box. Electric showers tend to give a more controllable heat than hot water supply showers, but both types have their advantages and disadvantages.

Mixer Showers

Mixer showers take water from both the hot and cold water supplies and blend the water to reach the desired temprature. Mixer showers are perfect for homes with combi boilers or a large hot water cylinder with readily available hot water. Mixer showers work on the same principal they are easy to install as they do not need any electrical connections, and work by blending hot and cold water together. Mixer showers are available in both manual and thermostatic models; the thermostatic valve maintaining an exact temperature, even if water is drawn off elsewhere in the home. Mixer showers cannot be pumped from a mains pressure system (combination boilers, multi point heaters) but they can from low pressure systems.
